Augur today: what it is, which wallet holds REP, and what changed in 2026
Augur is a decentralised prediction market and oracle protocol on Ethereum; today there is no Augur app you can trade on, and augur.net is an information site. A fork that began on 8 April 2026 over an Artemis II market closed on 3 August 2026, and REP moved to the Yes universe; old REP is not expected to hold value.

What it is now
Augur is a decentralised prediction market and oracle protocol on Ethereum; today there is no Augur app you can trade on, and augur.net is an information site.
The project, a decentralized prediction market protocol on Ethereum, held one of the network’s first crowdsales in 2015 and launched on mainnet in 2018.
Not as a new Augur-native prediction-market application: one has not yet relaunched.
The fork is the mechanism of last resort in Augur v2, the version of the protocol running today
The Site is operated by the Lituus Foundation, a non-profit foundation under the laws of the State of Delaware
The wallet you need
Any Ethereum wallet: you add the current REP token by its contract address, or hold it on an exchange such as Kraken.
The token is REPv2_Yes_1, contract 0xCf6A0A7826fa124B7705d6f3c675eAD76f1e540D on Ethereum mainnet.
Most wallets also let you add a token manually via an “import token” or “add custom token” feature
Augur development continues on REPv2_Yes_1, the token for the truthful outcome.
Kraken listed REPv2_Yes_1 under the ticker AUGUR and migrated its customers’ REPv1 and REPv2 balances
What REP is
REP is the token holders use to dispute bad outcomes and to choose a side in a fork; Augur’s foundation says it is not a passive asset.
REP is a forking token, its security relies on active participants being able to acquire and stake REP when needed.
The fork reminds us that REP is not a passive asset.
The 2026 fork
A fork that began on 8 April 2026 over an Artemis II market closed on 3 August 2026, and REP moved to the Yes universe; old REP is not expected to hold value.
Start: April 8, 2026
The migration window closed on August 3, 2026, at 01:00 UTC.
Total REP supply at the close: 11,000,000.
Yes, but it is not expected to have value or use going forward.
The foundation warns that any offer to migrate old REP after the window closed is a scam.
Anyone offering to migrate, recover, or unlock that REP now is running a scam.
What comes next
ChainSafe completed the first Augur Lituus implementation milestones, covering core oracle functions
Separately, the Foundation funds Dark Florist, an independent team building a censorship-resistant prediction market
